Creativity
Diko Iliev's unique artistic style is a combination of bright creative individuality, original musical thinking and many years of practice, complemented by a good knowledge of folk songs and the achievements of Bulgarian and foreign composers. Dikoili's music is born of a fine soul and brings a unique rhythm and energy. THE MARCHES A valuable legacy are his marches, written with a tact different from those existing until then. They subsequently influenced the development of this musical genre. The first of them is the march "Our Commander", created on August 26, 1934 and dedicated to Major Asen Dipchev, who took over the position of commander of the 3rd Gendarmerie Company in Oryahovo. The editors of the Oryahov newspaper "Pravda" do not fail to announce the appearance of this influential work and congratulate the author with the desire for works. The most popular is the march "Sliventsi pri Drava" from 1947. It is associated with the seven-month service of Diko Iliev in the 11th Sliven Infantry Regiment, whose glorious victories and heroism in the Patriotic War inspired the composer. The moment of the presentation of the new march in front of the lined up regimental ranks is especially emotional. After the solemn silence, a spontaneous military applause began during the performance. The marching music managed to touch the soldier's heart. With "Sliventsi pri Drava" Radio Sofia has been opening its morning program for 15 years in a row. Today in the archives of Chitalishte "Nadezhda" are kept as a relic originals of a number of wild works. The unpublished ones find a place in four CDs of the Oryahovo brass band and reach their audience. To them is added another hitherto unknown march "Not for me", recently opened among the scores by the conductor of the Oryahovo brass band Kuzman Kuzmanov. PEOPLE An important part of Diko Iliev's timeless work are the people, captivating with their melody and harmony. They are intertwined with native talent and humanity. The sheet music exudes joy and sadness, one can feel the strong connection with the life and inner experiences of the composer. The law "Iskarsko horo" was written at the earliest. It is also the author's musical debut. The year is 1917 - the time of the First World War. The place is the front positions near Seret, where the longing for the homeland brings Diko Iliev back to his childhood memories. Almost a decade later, the "Bukyovkoto and Grancharskoto horo" were created. After them comes a particularly fruitful creative period. In the 1930s, the number of people increased rapidly. Then Diko Iliev wrote "The Merry Ivancho", "Rural Sighs", "Zig-zag", "May Morning", "Our Pride", "Jump", "May Flowers" and many other straight, deer-like deer people. In 1935, from the father's grief over the lost daughter, the Alexandria dance was born, and in 1937, with the thought of the quiet Danube and the beauty of the Oryahov nature, he created the unique Danube dance. New and new musical works follow. It is impossible to determine which is the best of them, because each work carries a strong emotional charge and imperceptibly draws into the musical world of Diko Iliev. Dr. Evgenia Naidenova
